Flying from/to various small airports I have to go by bus from/to airplanes. It’s cold, takes more time and all passengers need to get in the airplane at the same time (when the bus arrives). Fortunately no rain this time, but it was very cold (I was in Brazil 7 days earlier) as we had to wait 5 minutes at the platform to get all passengers into the plain.
For me and for other passengers I think, boarding areas are chaotic at Schiphol. When boarding my flight to Aberdeen Friday evening 2nd December (I try to remember, I think it was gate D23) there showed to be no separation between security check-in area, queue for boarding check and the waiting area for the airplane. There was 1 big queue for the airplane and organization of the boarding card checks was somewhere in the middle with no clear visual separation. Why not give the waiting area before the airplanes (after boarding) a distinctive character. Even a color for the floor & chairs could make things more clear and more relaxed. Moreover, in general there are few Airline staff who can help or be friendly to you at the boarding areas.
